Parigi Val Bene una Messa! Exhibition in Honour of King Henry IV
The Soprintendenza of Florence and Medici Chapel museum have teamed up with the Musée National du Château de Pau to organize this major exhibition honouring the 400th anniversary of the assassination of King Henry IV of Navarre. An amazing exhibition of the 19 monochrome canvases that were commissioned by Cosimo II de Medici, and brilliantly lit by candlelight in the Basilica of San Lorenzo and arranged along the walls of the church for the funeral service, will be elegantly rearranged in the Medici Chapel. In addition to the paintings, a collection of books, engravings and drawings celebrating King Henry's successor, Louis XIII, the Medici family tree, a magnificent drawing by Rubens and much more will be on display in this veritable Franco-Italian event.
