The British Institute of Florence Special Anniversary Issue

The Florentine is proud to announce its upcoming special issue.

A product of the fermenting social and cultural ideals of early nineteenth century Florence, the British Institute first opened its doors in 1917. Over the years, it quickly became a refuge and gathering place for a vast array of English and Italian writers, artists, intellectuals and politicians. Located in the enchanting Palazzo Lanfredini, it boasts the largest English-language library in Italy and a world-renowned English Language School situated in the historic Palazzo Strozzino.

The British Institute Special Issue, available on November 8, 2007, will be printed in 25,000 copies and distributed at anniversary events during two months. As well, the special issue will be distributed in British universities, cultural centres, international fairs and institutional gatherings throughout the world.
