Flickr group takes off

Six months ago we began by putting a dozen of our photos on Flikr and asking the community to contribute their favorite pictures from Florence. Today, thanks to the group’s 84 members, we have collected over 1,000 photos available for use in The Florentine.

To our surprise (and delight), we found that it was not only visitors who were contributing memories of their Florentine vacation, but that the majority of the photos were from Florentines themselves—each showing a completely new side of their city.

We would like to thank each and every member for having contributed to one of the main goals of our publication: telling stories about life that go well beyond tourism.
