You are a young American student on a study abroad program in Tuscany, one of the most beautiful places in the entire world. On November 4, you and your fellow citizens will elect a new president of your country. This is an important moment in your life. But it doesn't stop there: participate in Quizme, a fun culture quiz made up of 60 questions about the U.S., Tuscany, Italy, the environment and energy use and you may win one of three amazing prizes.
Toscana Energia, the main sponsor of the project, offers winners three thrilling weekend trips for two. The first is a flight in a private plane followed by a stay in a gorgeous Tuscan farmhouse. Second prize: a weekend of pampering at the prestigious Saturnia hot springs, with massages and spa treatments. The third prize is a sailboat cruise through the Tuscan archipelago.
Quizme takes place at the Dante Alighieri school in Piazza della Repubblica on October 15 at 5pm. The contest rewards those students who demonstrate the most knowledge about their home and host countries and their understanding of environmental issues and responsible energy use.
Toscana Energia's involvement demonstrates its commitment and understanding of the complex interconnection of local and global issues, of politics and the environment. Lorenzo Becattini, president of Toscana Energia, sees Quizme as way to get students in touch with the richness of their temporary home in Tuscany: "During a year that will see the election of a new U.S. president and the 60th anniversary of the approval of the Italian Constitution, we wanted to highlight the importance of this moment. The confluence of politics, sustainable energy, democracy and culture gives students the opportunity to make this one of the most memorable experiences of their lives'.
