City of Florence in English

The Florentine collaborate on content of the new site

The municipality of Florence recently decided to revamp its website and inaugurated a new version in English. English is an important language spoken by many Florence residents and the majority of tourists in the city. The new website will better serve both English-speaking citizens and visitors. It took us a long time because it's not a simple translation of the Italian site, but a well-studied selection of information that is useful to English speakers,' says Giovanni Carta, director of communications at Palazzo Vecchio.

Because of its experience in English-language journalism and publishing in the city, The Florentine was asked to collaborate on the design and content of the new site. From planning and organization to the translation of texts, TF staff are pleased to have been part of such a much-needed service to Anglo-expats living in the city.
